Boohoo Group has asked suppliers for a discount on delivered and undelivered clothing as it looks to reduce costs in its supply chain.
One supplier told The Times the online retailer had “demanded” a 10% discount for all outstanding orders.
“It turns all orders produced into losses,” they said.

“They are struggling to find suppliers and now they are screwing the ones they have.”
Last year, the group faced supplier backlash when it extended its payment terms from 30 days to 60 days.
The group is in the process of reducing costs across its business as it grapples with falling sales amid the rising cost of living.
It is currently consulting on more than 100 roles at its Soho office as well as 50 roles in its Manchester head office.

Just when you thought the fast fashion industries couldn’t stoop any lower. Boohoo really outdid themselves with this one. Time to call it a day don’t you think? Do us all a favour and wipe this piece of crap company off the planet. Game over.
So Boohoo joins the list of fashion brands “asking” their suppliers for discounts. Will suppliers say no and issue statutory demands in respect of unpaid invoices? Will Boohoo find it more difficult to attract suppliers? Could the UK government give thought to introducing a fashion adjudicator comparable to the Groceries Code Adjudicator and might this help with inflation?
I am supplier and they have taken 25% from me on old invoices and current orders. Also they have paused payments which were already over 60 days due.
