H&M launches pre-loved service in Regent Street store

H&M is bringing its pre-loved shopping experience to the UK as it ramps up its sustainability efforts.

The range will be available in the fashion retailer‘s London flagship on Regent Street store from 5 October, allowing consumers to pick up second-hand pieces from a range of brands and designers.

H&M’s autumn/winter collection will span knits, classic trench coats, denim, metallic dresses and shirts, with a range of accessories on offer.

The range will be available on the first floor of the Regent Street store where new garments will be added daily.

H&M country manager UK & IE Henrik Nordvall, said: “We are delighted to launch Pre-Loved in the UK, giving our customers the possibility to explore unique styles. The opportunity to give a second life to garments brings real value to our customers and enables them to explore different ways of engaging in a circular fashion industry.

“Introducing this concept in our London flagship store, alongside our rental offering, invites our customers to enjoy, play and experiment with fashion, finding new ways for them to express their personal style through rental, Pre-Loved and our wonderful H&M collections.”

H&M has undertaken several initiatives to enable a more sustainable and ethical approach to fashion – from teaming up with German recycling group Remondis for a new venture to collect and sell used unwanted garments and textiles to “phasing out” sourcing from suppliers in Myanmar amid labour abuse reports.

The news follows this week’s appointment of H&M’s former sustainability boss Pascal Brun as Zalando’s new vice president of sustainability, diversity and inclusion.
