Freemans has announced that its festive activity will begin today, making it the earliest Christmas campaign for the retailer in its 118 year history.

The digital department store unveiled the campaign over a week sooner than last year, in response to customers starting their Christmas shopping “earlier than ever”.

In the retailer’s latest TV advert iteration of “Made You Look,” designed for Christmas, 10 and 20 second adverts premiere from tomorow, and are set to run until 15th December.

The adverts will appear across some of the biggest shows on ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 including Coronation Street and Emmerdale.

“Out of home” activity will also be trialled regionally for the first time, as well as digital campaign amplification via all of its owned channels and investment in paid channels including YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook.

The campaign showcases product heroes, including partywear, Christmas decorations and a “magical” kettle

Freemans chief customer officer Richard Cristofoli said: “Customers are telling us they are actively looking for Christmas home, party and gift ideas earlier than ever as cost-of-living pressures mean spreading the cost is more important than ever.

“As such we made the decision to go earlier than ever before with Christmas at Freemans”.

The news comes after Freemans ditched its print catalogue after 118 years last month, while moving to a new look and feel under its “Made You Look” concept.
