Victoria Plum snapped up by Beds.co.uk owner

Victoria Plum has been snapped up in a pre-pack administration deal by the owner of Beds.co.uk and furniture seller Cox & Cox.

AHK Designs acquired one of the UK’s biggest online bathroom retailers late on Friday afternoon, after it had been put up for sale by Endless, which has owned the business since 2019.

The deal means that all of Victoria Plum’s workforce of over 300 people will be transferring to the new owner.

People close to the retailer said inflation in global freight costs and pressure on consumer spending had impacted profitability and cashflow in recent months.

It’s the latest online furniture retailer to change hands in recent months as customers cut back on online shopping post-Covid.

Last November, Next snapped up the brand, domain names and intellectual property of Made.com for £3.4m after it fell into administration.
