JD Sports unveiled its biggest flagship store opening of the year at Birmingham’s Bullring & Grand Central on Saturday.

The sports retailer’s new 27,500 ft store doubles its space at the shopping centre and creates more than 100 new jobs across permanent and Christmas staff vacancies.

The new store will sell brands including Nike, Adidas, The North Face, Under Armour and Juicy Couture.

The retailer had operated its previous store in the Bullring for 20 years.

JD Sports head of group acquisitions James Air said: “We can’t think of a better way to celebrate two decades of JD Sports at the Bullring than opening a fantastic new flagship store.

“We’ve seen the buzz and demand JD Sports has generated, so building such an impressive new store will bring even more of the world’s best brands to the destination’s many visitors”.
