Matches supplies have been left uncertain about whether they will be paid for stock after Frasers Group put the business into administration at the start of this month.

Approximately half of more than 450 brands stocked on the luxury fashion retailer’s platform have not been paid for their stock, according to Drapers.

A representative for two British luxury brands supplying Matches said the businesses are in talks with the administrator and are focused on “getting their stock back”.

On 8 March, Frasers Group put the luxury etailer into administration less than three months after buying it.

The retail empire said the fashion business had “consistently missed its business plan targets and, notwithstanding support from the group, has continued to make material losses”.

As a result, almost half its staff have been made redundant, including Matches CEO Nick Beighton and CFO Dave Murray.
