Waitrose slashes prices on more than 200 products

Waitrose will cut the price of over 200 weekly shop products as part of its commitment to deliver great value for money.

Customers will be able to save an average of 7% on everyday foods like chicken breasts, butter and cream, and up to 10% off fresh produce.

The upmarket grocer said the new wave of price cuts focuses on a wider range of healthier products, including organic ingredients, higher-welfare items and it’s Good Health range.

This is the fifth time the supermarket chain has lowered prices on hundreds of products since February last year and takes the total investment to £130m.

Waitrose commercial director Charlotte Di Cello said: “Our commitment to giving our customers great value for money continues with our latest investment in price.

“We are focusing on even more weekly shop staples as well as a large range of organic ingredients which our customers love.

“We continue to offer market-leading quality on our higher welfare products, such as chicken and outdoor-bred pork alongside our best seasonal fruit and vegetables.  As always, our quality won’t change but our prices will drop allowing customers to enjoy great value with no compromise.

“As we approach the warmer months, seasonal produce will be in abundance, and with the addition of our ‘In Season’ section on Waitrose.com, customers can easily find our top quality, seasonal products with a simple click.”
