Currys teams up with Accenture and Microsoft to drive generative AI adoption

Currys has selected Accenture and Microsoft to deliver its core cloud technology infrastructure to allow the retailer to leverage the latest AI technologies.

The rollout will enhance operations, elevate the shopping experience, and improve the colleague experience for the electricals retailer’s 25,000 staff.

Accenture and Microsoft, together with joint venture Avanade, will work closely with Currys “to modernize, secure and simplify its technology estate”, enabling it to accelerate its adoption of Microsoft AI technologies.

The update is expected to benefit the business by making it easier for customers to shop through personalised product information and suggestions, and providing them with improved post-sales experiences and warranty service.

It will also provide colleagues with better information on product availability, delivery costs and add-on services, while improving omnichannel experiences.
