John Lewis has appointed former Asos head of buying Rachel Morgans to the role of fashion director.
As part of her role, she will oversee the retailer’s curation of in-house and third-party brands.
Over the course of last year, John Lewis introduced 100 new brands to its fashion offer, including Vivere, Olivia Rubin and Sister Jane as it continues to target a broader range of shoppers.

The high street retailer saw a 3% year-on-year rise in sales of its own-brand fashion items during the 12 months leading up to February 29, driven by a notable 13% year-on-year growth in menswear sales.
Mitchell said: “Rachel’s passion and expertise will be invaluable to John Lewis.
“[Morgans] has extensive experience in design, innovation, and leadership within the fashion industry. We are thrilled to have her join us during this exciting time as we continue to enhance our fashion offerings and help our customers look and feel their best.”

At the start of the year, John Lewis hired one of its former directors, ex-Jigsaw boss Peter Ruis, to run its department store business.
While in April, the retailer appointed Tesco veteran Jason Tarry to replace outgoing chair Dame Sharon White.
