THG to axe 171 jobs in new wave of redundancies

THG is set to axe 171 jobs across various departments after cutting almost a third of its workforce over the past two years as part of a cost-saving review.

The LookFantastic and MyProtein owner told employees it has put 581 jobs at risk as it looks to scrap 171 roles across six divisions including beauty and nutrition, The Financial Times reported.

The announcement coincides with the company requesting staff return to its Manchester head office five days a week from 19 August.



In its previous policy, the group required employees to come into the office for four days a week with an option to work from home one day a week subject to prior approval.

The company blamed the changes on “inconsistent adherence” to its current policy, which requires employees to come into the office four days a week with an option to work from home one day a week subject to prior approval.

In an internal memo, seen by The FT, it added that formal flexible working agreements that were already in place would continue to apply “but [they] may be subject to review in the near future”.
