Morleys department stores has named former House of Fraser exec Allan Winstanley as its new CEO, taking over from Nigel Blow.

The new boss, who is due to take up his role in January, returns to the UK after working with Myer department stores in Australia as its chief merchandise officer.

Prior to this, he served as president of Sears and Kmart apparel in the US, chief merchandise officer of Selfridges Dutch department store business De Bijenkorf.

In the UK, he led House of Fraser’s women’s apparel, accessories and beauty business, and started his career at M&S.

Winstanley takes over from Nigel Blow, who has served as the chief executive of Morleys for the last 8 years.

Blow, who has previously worked for department store Harrods, was hired as chief executive of Fenwick, before recently claiming the role was withdrawn two weeks before he was due to begin in the aftermath of multiple sexual assault and rape allegations made against Harrods’ previous owner Mohamed Al Fayed.
