Weird Fish reported a 9% increase in sales over the Christmas period, driven by third-party partnerships, new shop openings and an improved product offer.

The fashion retailer said sales during November and December hit £11.4m, pushing its full-year revenue up 12% to £42.7m and doubling its EBITDA to £5.3m.

It said better coordinated marketing campaigns across all channels led to reduced discounting and saw an increase in the value of average basket size.

Weird Fish launched new third-party partnerships with Next Label Plus and Mountain Warehouse, as well as additional agreements with Freemans and Matalan last year, which fuelled a 128% rise in sales in the category.

The retailer, which opened five new shops, 31 concessions and two third-party outlets, plans to open another ten stores this year as it looks to double the store estate since its chief executive David Butler joined the business at the end of 2023.

Butler said: “We have continued to see positive momentum in the business through the decisions we have taken to create a more profitable businesses and enhance our product ranges and drive margin.

“The changes we have made are really resonating with our core customers and driving new shoppers to our stores and online.”

“By strengthening our offering and continuing to grow our store estate in prime locations, we’re well placed to continue our growth journey in 2025.
