Amazon recorded its “fastest-ever” worldwide delivery times for those with a Prime membership last year.

More than 9 billion products arrived on the same day or the next day around the world in 2024, according to the ecommerce giant.

Over 1 billion of these goods were delivered on the same day across the UK, with its same-day service available for shoppers based in more than 80 UK towns and cities.

Some of the UK’s most popular same-day products included pharmacy essentials, such as magnesium and baby wipes, and beauty products like mascara, hair treatments, and skincare.

The ecommerce giant said it was delivering more “everyday essentials” for Prime members, across categories including health, beauty, baby, and pet food. Amazon said it had also expanded its same-day delivery category selection.

The quickest UK delivery during the last three months took just under an hour and a half in Manchester, according to Retail Week.

Worldwide Amazon Stores CEO Doug Herrington said: “Fast, free delivery with Prime changed customers’ expectations, and we aim to keep exceeding expectations and helping members get more of what they need and want—at record speeds.

“Record savings during our Prime-exclusive deal events, new offers like fuel savings, and fast, convenient delivery of everyday essentials, fresh groceries, and even prescription medication are some of the perks helping make Prime a better deal than ever before.”
