The Range has opened a new store in Ruislip, with the site featuring the brand’s latest addition, “Kitchens by Homebase,” for the first time.

The new initiative allows shoppers to find their dream kitchen, with design specialists on hand to help with the process.

The expanded offering provides customers with a one-stop shop for all of their home improvement needs, according to the retailer.

Additionally, the store features a gardening hub, dubbed “Garden Centre by Homebase,” offering products ranging from outdoor plants and gardening tools to essential supplies.

The store opening was marked with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by councillor Philip Corthorne.

The event featured prize giveaways with the first 50 shoppers in line receiving a goodie bag from the variety store chain, while winners at the start of the queue also took home more prizes.

Brand representatives from The Range’s key suppliers, such as Dulux and Westland, were available to offer advice, product demonstrations and exclusive promotions and giveaways to customers.

CEO of CDS Superstores, trading as The Range, Wilko and Homebase, Alex Simpkin said: “We’re thrilled to open the doors in Ruislip today and introduce customers to the new The Range superstore experience.

“The exciting addition of the ‘Kitchens by Homebase’ to this format continues to provide customers with home improvement solutions, all under one roof.”

He added: “It was amazing to see the community come together to celebrate and we’re proud to offer such a fantastic range of products and prizes to thank them for their support.”

The store launched as The Range also marked the opening of superstores in Craigleith Park, Edinburgh and Horsham today, with more site openings planned over the year.

The Ruislip opening comes as The Range seeks to keep the Homebase brand alive, after CDS Superstores owner Chris Dawson snapped up the brand and up to 70 of its stores out of administration last year.

CDS Superstores began 2025 by relaunching the DIY and garden retailer’s website and unveiling its first set of new-format superstores.
