Morrisons has appointed current group people and corporate services director Clare Grainger to its group board, effective 1 May 2025.
Grainger, who has been with the supermarket for over 16 years, will focus on strategic issues in her new part-time role, offering the board her insight and extensive experience with the business.
In addition to Grainger’s appointment, Jodie Keating has been promoted to the role of group people director.
Keating, who has been with Morrisons for nearly 15 years, previously held the position of people director for operations.
CEO Rami Baitieh said: “Our most important asset is our amazing colleagues, and both Clare and Jodie have dedicated their working lives to training, developing, and investing in people and talent at every level.
“I am so pleased that Clare will now bring her deep skills, experience, and strategic insights directly to the Morrisons board, and that Jodie’s huge contribution to Morrisons’ progress has been recognised with this well-deserved promotion to a critical group role.”
The latest appointments come after Morrisons named former Aldi exec George Brown as its new group property director at the start of the month.
Brown previously served as national property director of Aldi from March 2004 until March 2025.
Additionally, the grocery giant revealed that its group trading director for non-food Bruno Lebon had stepped down from the company after four months.
The departures come after Morrisons unveiled plans last month to close 52 cafés, all 18 of its Market Kitchens, 17 convenience stores, 13 florists, 35 meat counters, 35 fish counters, and four pharmacies under its operational shake-up.
Earlier this month, the grocery giant also raised its savings target to £1bn as its turnaround efforts gained pace.
