Supermarket chain Asda has teamed up with data analytics firm eStoreBrands to launch a new ecommerce insight and collaboration platform, Asda Xpert.
The initiative, which launches next week, has been designed to “better help Asda and its suppliers understand, and more effectively meet the needs of its online shoppers”, Retail Week reported.
The new platform will “provide brands with advanced data-driven insights, enabling them to optimise product performance, track market trends, and make smarter category decisions” for the retailer’s online site.
Asda Xpert will “integrate digital shelf analytics and real-time performance data” to help “suppliers drive mutual category growth and improve decision-making”.
The tool will also provide brands with the information they need “to maximise growth, optimise strategies… in an increasingly competitive online retail space”.
The launch follows reports that Asda was in talks about a £400m sale and leaseback deal for 20 of its supermarkets to help fund its turnaround plan.
