M&S has opened a new flagship store in SouthGate, Bath.
The 83,000 sq ft store, which comprises four floors, has been relocated from the retailer’s previous Stall Street location.
On the ground floor, the store features a 14,000 sq ft fresh market-style foodhall, including a flower shop, a line up of fresh market specials from M&S Select Farms and its latest product launches.
There is also a new bakery and coffee counter offers takeaway barista-made hot and cold drinks, alongside a range of bread and pastries.
Three floors of fashion also deliver new collections, including Autograph womenswear and Jaeger in menswear.
A 1,600 sq ft beauty hall offers new third-party brands to customers, including Estee Lauder, ESPA and Hello Sunday.
The top floor features a curated homeware collection, including the M&S x Kelly Hoppen homeware edit.
Additionally, the food and fashion giant’s flagship offers a 140-seater M&S coffee shop, with a menu of breakfast and lunch options.
Bath SouthGate forms one of more than 20 new or renewed stores M&S is launching across the UK during the second half of its financial year.
Store manager Natalie Jordan said: “We have a fantastic history in Bath, dating back to 1895 and it is brilliant to be investing in a brand-new flagship store in the city centre.
“Our focus is now delivering the trusted value and exceptional quality we’re known for, alongside a touch of that M&S magic.
“Our new showstopping store does just that and the response this morning from customers has been so rewarding for the whole team.”
British Land senior asset manager Laurence Budden: “The opening of M&S in isolation is a huge moment for SouthGate; the £6m invested by British Land and Aviva making it possible for us to have the largest store of its type in the South West, in doing so providing our visitors with the best possible experience with a much-loved brand.
“Put that against the backdrop of an incredible 2025, and we have a lot to celebrate. 2026 will be about building on that success, and we’re already in discussions with some really exciting new retailers that will only provide more reasons to visit and enjoy a day out in Bath.”
