The Cotswold Company’s owner is gearing up for a sale of the furniture retailer, after snapping up the business in 2016.

Investment firm True Capital recently appointed Arrowpoint Advisory to formulate a long term disposal plan of the company, Sky News reported.

Although an auction of the retailer is not imminent, True is expected to pursue a sale of The Cotswold Company within the next couple of years, sources said.

Retail Gazette has contacted The Cotswold Company for comment.

It comes after The Cotswold Company recently revealed a sales boost in a record trading update.

The group saw its revenues grow 30% year-on-year, rising to 56.9m for the six months to 30 August. It noted that it materially outperformed the broader home and furniture market for the period.

The brand also saw a 21% year-on-year rise in active customers to more than a quarter of a million, which it said was driven by its new showrooms in Harpenden and Knutsford, investments in new product ranges, and successful brand-led marketing campaigns.
