Frasers Group has snapped up a majority stake in luxury US fashion house The Webster.

The acquisition comes under a new strategic partnership which will enable Frasers to broaden its presence across the US, with 13 retail sites under The Webster brand.

The Webster currently has shops across key US cities, such as New York, Miami and Los Angeles, as well as Californian towns Montecito and Costa Mesa.

The luxury retailer’s founder Laure Hériard Dubreuil is set to retain a minority stake in The Webster and continue managing the company.

Frasers Group CEO Michael Murray said the partnership represented a “new chapter for both brands, driven by collaboration, creativity and cultural relevance”.

“This partnership is founded on a shared belief in elevating retail through experience, creativity and culture,” he said.

“We are excited about what lies ahead with Laure and her team at The Webster.”

The move comes after Frasers snapped up online technology retailer Ebuyer in August, saving the brand from administration.

The digital marketplace joined the business’s growing portfolio, which includes Game, Studio Retail and Sports Direct.
