Matalan has named Beccy Davies as its new people and talent director, with the exec joining the company this month.
Davies, who will report to the brand’s chief people officer Alyson Fadil, joins from IT services firm Exertis UK, where she worked as its head of HR from November 2023 to September 2025.
She previously held various senior HR positions at Estée Lauder Companies, most recently working as its director, HRBP corporate functions.
Davies also held HR leadership positions at sofa retailer Sofology from 2012 to 2015, and worked in various roles for Selfridges from 2005 to 2012.

Posting on LinkedIn, Davies said: “After keeping this under wraps for a little while, I’m really pleased to share that I’ve joined Matalan as director of people and talent.
“Stepping into the role has been a proud moment in my career, coming back into a large retail business where people genuinely sit at the heart of everything.”
In her new position at Matalan, Davies is set to oversee the fashion brand’s people strategy across its shops, distribution centres and head office.
Last month, Matalan appointed former George at Asda exec Ruth Golightly as its new head of childrenswear buying.
The fashion specialist also recently hired ex-H&M boss Henrik Nordvall as its new CEO.
