Aldi has promoted Will Barstow as its new national buying managing director.
Barstow has spent more than 22 years at the German discounter, most recently serving as its group buying director for chilled foods, fresh meat, fresh and frozen fish, poultry, dairy, eggs and vegan.
He replaces Stephen Eivers, The Grocer reported, who recently stepped down from Aldi after almost 30 years.
Eivers took over from Julie Ashfield as the brand’s national buying managing director in January.
Aldi named Hayleigh Lupino as its new chief financial officer back in March, with the exec joining from pub group Marston’s where she worked for more than 20 years.
In August, Morrisons also hired former Aldi director Andy Gillies as its new logistics director.
