Superdry is set to open in-store and online in Argentina, through its franchise partner Tango Fabric.
The company, which rebranded to Superdry & Co in September, will launch superdry.com.ar to sell its goods online across the region, Superdry’s CEO told Drapers.
In addition, the brand is gearing up to open five stores across the capital Buenos Aires, with the aim to open up to 45 shops throughout Argentina and the LATAM (Latin America) market over the next five years.
Talks with landlords are still ongoing while the first store location has not yet been confirmed.
Tango Fabric was supported by consultancy and accountancy firm Canudas on the brand’s location strategy, as well as developing a 20-year plan for Superdry’s LATAM expansion.
The fashion retailer will continue operating in Colombia via its partner Estudio, which currently runs 23 Superdry shops.
Superdry is the latest UK fashion brand to open stores in South America. Dr Martens has launched stores across Latin America, with the shoe retailer revealing that its partner for Latin America, Crosby, launched a shop in Santiago, Chile in October, representing its first in the country.
The move followed the launch of a Buenos Aires, Argentina, store in August, while the agreement between the companies also covers Paraguay and Mexico.
