Co-op quick commerce managing director Chris Conway has departed from the retailer after 8 years.
Conway joined the convenience giant in March 2018 as its director of ecommerce.
Prior to this, he served as head of online for Morrisons from 2015 to 2018, after more than a 13 year stint at Asda.
Posting on LinkedIn, Conway said: “After 8 years, my time at the Co-op has come to an end.
“It’s been a privilege to help shape the evolution of our online and quick commerce proposition.
“What began as an emerging idea grew into a business of real scale — built by talented teams willing to test, learn and move at pace. I’m proud of what we achieved together, particularly in pushing established retail into faster, more agile territory.”
He continued: “The experience reinforced for me that sustainable innovation comes from diverse thinking, strong customer focus and empowered teams.
“I’m now taking some time to recharge and reflect before considering my next chapter.”
The departure comes after Co-op defended its culture following reports that claimed senior managers complained of a “toxic” environment at the business.
The company said it did not believe that the complaints “represent the views of our broader leadership and colleagues,” The BBC reported.
