Flying Tiger Copenhagen has named Jens Aarup Mikkelsen as its new CEO, succeeding Martin Jermiin.

Mikkelsen will step down from his current role as CEO International to take up the position of group CEO at the variety store chain.

Jermiin, who joined Flying Tiger in 2019, is set to continue his career outside of the company.

Mikkelsen assumed the role of CEO on 19 February.

Jermiin is set to remain a member of the board of directors of Flying Tiger Copenhagen parent company, Zebra A/S.

Zebra A/S chairman John Dueholm said: “I’m very pleased to announce Jens Aarup Mikkelsen as our new CEO.

“I regret to see Martin leave the company after seven years leading the business and wish him the best of luck with his new venture.

“However, we have a very strong internal successor ready. Jens’ appointment ensures continuity, stability and continued momentum, as he has been part of Flying Tiger Copenhagen’s leadership team since 2019 and brings extensive international experience and deep knowledge of the business.”

He added: “Jens has successfully developed and strengthened the international operations and played a central role in both shaping and executing the strategy.

“In particular, since 2021 he has led the franchise expansion outside Europe, which represents a key growth engine for the company going forward.”

Mikkelsen said: “It is with a strong sense of responsibility and great motivation that I step into the role of CEO for Flying Tiger Copenhagen at a pivotal point in the company’s journey.

“Flying Tiger Copenhagen has strong fundamentals, a clear strategic direction and exceptional teams across our markets.

“Having been closely involved in shaping and executing our strategy, I look forward to continuing the work together with great colleagues and partners.

“Our direction remains clear, and our priorities are unchanged: we will continue to focus on disciplined execution, strengthening our international footprint and delivering long-term value, while staying true to the creativity and energy that define Flying Tiger Copenhagen.”
