Uniqlo has launched a new limited edition collection with Danish womenswear designer Cecile Bahnsen.
The new line is based on the concept of ‘Shapes of Poetry” and combines Bahnsen’s craftmanship with Uniqlo’s “commitment to comfort”. It features a selection of dresses, tops and skirts with floral motifs, voluminous sleeves and shirring details.
The designer has also created her first line for girls as part of this collaboration, which includes a selection of dresses, T-shirts and skorts.
It will be available from *28 May.
Bahnsen said: “I’m very excited to be able to share that with so many women and girls around the world through this collection.
“Working with Maria and Louise Thonfeldt on the campaign has felt extremely special; they so naturally embody the sisterhood at the heart of Cecilie Bahnsen and everything we hoped this collection could express.”
Fast Retailing Group senior executive officer and head of R&D for Uniqlo Yukihiro Katsuta added: “Around the time Uniqlo opened its first store in Denmark in Copenhagen in 2019, I had an opportunity to meet Cecilie by chance.
“I was immediately drawn to her approach to craftsmanship and hoped that one day we might have the opportunity to create something together.
“Seven years on, that long standing connection has finally come to fruition in the form of this collaboration.”
*date amended to 28 May
