US hydration brand Owala has appointed Unify Brand Partnerships as its first exclusive UK distributor, marking a significant step in its European expansion plans.
The deal gives Owala its first dedicated retail and logistics base in Britain and is intended to support growth in the UK’s reusable bottle market, with wider availability across major retailers, specialist lifestyle stores and ecommerce channels from mid-April 2026.
Unify Brand Partnerships said it has already secured a number of new retail partnerships for the brand, including Fenwick and Next in the UK, as well as Brown Thomas and Arnotts in Ireland.
Founded in 2020, Owala has grown rapidly in the US market and is now recognised for its patented FreeSip spout and brightly coloured product designs.
The brand is entering the UK at a time when reusable bottles are increasingly being positioned as lifestyle accessories rather than purely functional products, particularly among younger shoppers.
Damian Cooper, managing director at Unify Brand Partnerships, said: “The UK public shows high awareness of environmental issues.
“Owala’s arrival offers retailers a fresh proposition. It has successfully reimagined everyday hydration with a product that genuinely disrupts the category. Its combination of function, personality and social-media energy makes it perfectly positioned for the UK market.”
He added that the opportunity for retailers extended beyond utility, with the category increasingly sitting at the intersection of wellness, fashion and tech.
“Consumers don’t just want a bottle, they want a lifestyle object that reflects who they are,” he said.
According to Mintel’s UK Water and Hydration Drinks Report, released in August 2023, the UK reusable bottle market is forecast to reach £733.5m by 2032.
Unify said early retailer uptake reflects growing confidence in Owala’s design-led positioning and the wider appeal of premium hydration accessories across both department stores and the high street.
