Virgin Atlantic Holidays has confirmed the opening of a new flagship store at Battersea Power Station later this year.
The new location will mark its first London flagship and form a key part of its push to become ‘the premium long-haul holiday provider of choice’.
The store, which will be based inside the Grade II* listed landmark, will offer customers personalised advice from travel specialists across holidays including luxury breaks, family trips, multi-centre itineraries and long-haul experiences.
Chief commercial officer Dave Geer said: “We’re incredibly excited to open our first London flagship store at Battersea Power Station. It’s a landmark destination that perfectly reflects the ambition behind Virgin Atlantic Holidays as we continue to evolve our retail experience.”
He added that the store would give customers the chance to sit down with travel experts and build more bespoke trips, from Caribbean holidays to US road trips and adventures in destinations such as Phuket.
The decision builds on Virgin Atlantic Holidays’ existing relationship with Battersea Power Station, having previously staged a summer takeover campaign at the destination last year.
Battersea Power Station Development Company senior commercialisation manager Guy Smith said the travel retailer would be a “fantastic addition” to the development’s mix of shops, restaurants, bars and leisure operators.
The new flagship will also be supported by local marketing and partnership activity, while Virgin Atlantic Holidays has begun recruiting sales staff ahead of the opening.
