Flying Tiger Copenhagen has opened a new 4,500 sq ft store at The Liberty Romford.

The new shop, located next to Boots and Clarks, stocks the brand’s mix of homeware, stationery, gifts and toys.

The opening forms part of owner Redical’s ongoing push to refresh the retail mix at The Liberty, which is on track to attract 14 million visitors this year, up six per cent on 2025.

The centre serves a catchment of around 1.2 million people and has increasingly positioned itself as a key regional shopping destination outside central London.

Flying Tiger Copenhagen said the Romford opening represented an important step in its wider UK growth plans.

Mitch Cooper from Flying Tiger Copenhagen said: “The Liberty Romford is a key strategic step for us in our continued growth in the UK.

“This year, we’re prioritising growth and The Liberty’s dynamic mix of retail, leisure and family-friendly experiences makes this the right fit for us.”

He added that the retailer’s weekly flow of new products would help keep the offer fresh for repeat visitors.

Redical leasing manager Dan Tucker said the arrival of Flying Tiger was part of a strategy to introduce “new and relevant” brands to the centre.

The opening follows the recent signing of specialist motor insurance firm KGM, which has taken 10,800 sq ft of office space at the destination.

Redical said the letting reflected The Liberty’s growing appeal as a mixed-use destination alongside its core retail offer.
