Guided by the company‘s principle “customer obsession rather than competitor focus”, Amazon Local officially launched their “New home for West End tickets” campaign this week, offering every type of ticket available to all 48 West End shows.

From launch, Amazon Local will have millions of every ticket type to every West End theatre show. Customers can book tickets for their chosen show seven days a week, reviewing all the available dates and timings before selecting the best seats to suit their budget.

Tickets are also reportedly bookable on the Amazon Local app or on the web in “just two clicks, in under one minute”, and even applies for shows on the same day.

All costs are up front, with no additional charges appearing at the check-out stage when customers are ready to pay on Amazon Local.

1-Click shopping , Prime, Kindle, Fire phone, Fire tablets and fire TV are just some of the products and services pioneered by Amazon, as the e-tail giant competes in categories such as Entertainment, Dining, Travel, Beauty, Learning and personalised products and gifts. This week‘s launch puts the retailer in competition with the likes of Ticketmaster and See Tickets and sees the retail giant adding ticketing to their service list too.

Amazon Local

Amazon took on the daily deal market and voucher brands Groupon and Wowcher in 2012, by launching Amazon Local which now operates across 34 regions in the UK, offering inspiration for customers looking for a day out or potential gift. With it, customers can book restaurants, hotels and spa break deals in the app or on the web.

Geraldine Wilson, General Manager at Amazon Local UK, said: “Amazon Local has become a one-stop destination for the very best in entertainment, dining, travel and beauty experiences across the UK.”
