Seattle based ecommerce giant Amazon will soon be releasing its own brand groceries to add to its own-branded product range.

A person close to the matter told The Wall Street Journal that Amazon will soon reveal a line of private-label food brands. They further reported that names of some of its brands will include Happy Belly, Wickedly Prime and Mama Bear.

The Happy Belly brand will comprise of tea, nuts, trail mix and cooking oil, while Wickedly Prime will be mainly snack foods. The Mama Bear line will offer young baby products such as baby food and diapers.

Amazon‘s grocery and child ranges will be exclusive to Amazon Prime members.

It is likely that Amazon‘s new own-branded offering will be at competitive, affordable prices.

“Due to Amazon‘s size and scale, they have the ability to offer pricing that is highly competitive” said Traci Gregorski, Vice President of Marketing at Market Track.

A launch is anticipated by the end of May, however the etailer is yet to confirm an exact date.

It seems that there is no limit for continuous growth and innovation at Amazon. The etailer recently launched its own clothing line with claims that it will be the “top US clothing retailer” by 2017.
