On 19 March, Ted Baker’s UK operator filed a notice to appoint administrators, putting hundreds of jobs at risk. The retailer is set to close 15 of its 46 UK stores in the coming weeks, with 245 jobs lost.

The move came around 18 months after Authentic Brands Group (ABG) bought the fashion chain for £211m.

On 29 January, ABG ended its partnership with Dutch firm AARC, which managed Ted Baker’s retail outlets and e-commerce platform in the UK and Europe.

ABG is currently in the process of finding a new operating partner for the business in the UK and across Europe, with both Next and Sports Direct said to be eyeing up the embattled fashion retailer.
