As kids head back to school this September, Boots will be donating an additional 50,000 hygiene products to schools through its partnership with charity The Hygiene Bank.
The health and beauty retailer is looking to support children and families experiencing hygiene poverty, after a survey revealed that a shocking 97% of teachers reported that some of the children in their care need more basic hygiene items.
Products set to be donated will include essentials such as toothbrushes, toothpastes, shampoo, shower gel, deodorants and period products which will be distributed through The Hygiene Bank’s network to schools and local community projects to support children and families who are experiencing hygiene poverty,

Boots and its customers have donated over one million products to people living in hygiene poverty since 2020 and the retailer is encouraging the public to donate full and unopened products via one of 500 Hygiene Bank donation points in Boots stores across the UK.
Those wishing to help can also make a donation direct to The Hygiene Bank by buying an e-voucher on boots.com.
The Hygiene Bank has supported more than 560 UK schools across the UK to date, often working closely to discreetly distribute products to the children and their families.
Boots director of communications and ESG Lucy Reynolds said: “We know that back to school can be a challenging time for many families, this year more than ever. Together with The Hygiene Bank we hope to help by donating an extra 50,000 essential products, including soap, shower gel, toothpaste, deodorant and period products – things that many of us take for granted.
“Having access to these basic items can help young people feel more confident going back to school. Anyone can help this very important campaign by dropping off any full and unopened items to one of our 500 Hygiene Bank donation points in Boots stores across the country.”
