John Lewis reveals Christmas window display at flagship stores

John Lewis has revealed a unique twist for its Christmas window display at its flagship Oxford Street and Peter Jones department stores.

From deer made from Dyson vacuum cleaners to penguins made from kettles, a total of 188 animals have been made out of over 7,000 products stocked in store. Other creative creatures also include a turkey made of hand, face and bath towels, penguins made from kettles and a bear fashioned from furniture.

The news follows recent predictions made by the John Lewis for the top five Christmas toys for children this year.

Kim Morris, Head of Retail Design at John Lewis, said: “We wanted our windows to do more than just inform, we wanted to create displays which would inspire and delight our customers over the coming months. This year we‘ve gone in a new direction, whilst ensuring that products still remain the stars of the show.

“Contemporary shapes and materials are central to the scheme and these wonderful animals have been designed to appeal to new and existing customers. They will be the main attractions and are certain to get people talking in the run-up to Christmas.”

The animals were designed by creative consultancy Chameleon Visual and produced by Setsquare Staging.

The entire process took a year and John Lewis is already working on 2014‘s window displays.
