Hobbycraft is planning to open seven new shops in 2025 as it continues with its store roll out programme across the UK.

The new locations take the total number of stores opened by the crafts specialist over the last four years to 26.

It said its shops were a “vital hub” for customers, with arts and crafts shopping “more an experience than a simple transaction”.

The investment into new locations has created 325 additional jobs over the last three years, with 105 more set to be created through the new store openings.

Hobbycraft reported the dedicated digital crafting space and haberdashery areas introduced in its new stores has contributed to an 11% rise in sales of stitching kits and 43% in fabric by the metre year-on-year.

It added sales of its workshop sessions, hosted by a store colleague and designed to give customers the opportunity to master a new craft, were up 23% year-on-year.

Hobbycraft CEO Dominic Jordan said: “Our continued store roll out across the UK illustrates the importance we place in providing customers with a physical presence to gain the full art and craft experience.”
