The founder of online retail giant Net-a-Porter Natalie Massenet will take on a new role at Farfetch.

Massenet, who departed from Net-a-Porter in 2015 following a merger with Yoox, will now serve as a non-executive co-chairman of the online luxury fashion retailer Farfetch.

She will partner with the site‘s founder and chief executive José Neves.

Neves states that Massenet is “the undisputed pioneer, paving the way for the rest of us by demonstrating that not only could luxury be sold online but also that the internet would eventually become the primary way consumers engage with brands, globally”.

Massenet will be tasked with expanding the company‘s global brand and establishing fashion industry partnerships for the growing etailer.

“What Farfetch has done to rewrite the rulebook on how technology can work alongside bricks and mortar to elevate the customer experience stands out in the industry – when José asked me to come on board it was an opportunity I couldn‘t turn down,” she said.
