Hamleys is set to boost its presence across UK transport hubs with two new openings in London.
The toy retailer will open a 500sq ft pop-up store at Liverpool Street Station in early May, adding to its existing travel locations at London Bridge and St Pancras stations.
The new station store will stock a range of Hamleys plush bears and animals, pocket money toys including slime, magic tricks and mini vehicles, as well as travel-friendly products such as card games, sticker books and compact board game packs.
Hamleys is also preparing to open a new 1,000sq ft store at Heathrow Terminal 2 in mid-June, expanding its airport footprint following existing sites at Heathrow Terminal 4 and Stansted.
The Heathrow T2 store will carry the retailer’s signature bear range, novelty gadgets, pocket money toys, travel games and puzzles, alongside tech toys, dolls, action figures and small to medium construction sets from Lego and Playmobil.
Hamleys UK head of retail Keane Herman said: “Our travel estate performs consistently well for us around the world and we are very excited to enter Liverpool Street and expand our presence at Heathrow.
“Our formats have been tested and refined over many years in stations and airports – they are built for grab-and-go speed, fun and bright gifting ideas and we know they will do well this summer and beyond.”
The new openings form part of Hamleys’ wider travel retail push as it looks to capture commuters, tourists and families travelling through major UK hubs.
Alongside its flagship Regent Street store in London, Hamleys now operates 175 shops across 13 countries, including Italy, India, the UAE, China, the Philippines and Mexico.
