Ocado Retail has unveiled its summer campaign which stars football manager Harry Redknapp as Ocado’s new ‘Half Time Delivery’ manager.

Titled ‘Half Time Deliveries’, the marketing drive was devised by creative agency Mischief and produced by Black Shark.

As part of the campaign, Ocado’s consumers will get the chance to receive a free football inspired food and drink bundle, which will be available during the 15 minute half time window of England’s group stage games. Bundles available include Host Nation Hotlist, Best of British and Global Flavours.

The spot shows Redknapp arriving at a training ground, surrounded by reporters who are eager to find out about the success of Redknapp’s team. It is is later revealed that the team in question are actually Ocado delivery drivers.

Inspired by the rise of behind-the-scenes football documentaries, the film opens with Redknapp arriving at a training ground surrounded by reporters eager to hear about his team’s big performance.

Dan Elton, chief customer officer at Ocado Retail, said, “Working with football legend Harry Redknapp has been great fun. He’s brought enthusiasm, warmth and a lot of humour to our campaign, which is all about celebrating the wider football viewing experience beyond what happens on the pitch.

“With so many fans planning on watching the matches at home this year, Ocado is here to help everyone enjoy the tournament in their own way – and most importantly, ensure they don’t miss out on a moment of the action.

‘Half-Time Deliveries’ is part of a broader campaign, ‘Food for the Fans’ campaign, which will run across PR, social, on-site, CRM, print and influencer.
