Majestic Wine has started a fresh investment in its store portfolio by unveiling its newest branch in Trowbridge, Wiltshire.

The launch, which forms the first opening of the wine retailer’s financial year, forms part of its commitment to invest £4m in its bricks and mortar estate during 2026/27.

Its plan includes the launch of at least four new stores and a comprehensive programme of improvements to its existing shops across the UK.

The Trowbridge shop is based in “a prime location” on Wicker Hill, close to the banks of the River Biss, The Shires Shopping Centre and a host of bars, restaurants and coffee shops.

The 4,145 sq ft location sells the company’s full range of more than 1,000 wines. This includes a dedicated area for 72 fine wines, as well as its growing proposition of beers, spirits, low and no alcohol alternatives, soft drinks, snacks and gifts.

The store’s staff will also host free wine tastings seven days a week.

Shoppers will be able to try a selection of wines before they buy them at the shop’s in-store tasting counter. They can also get expert advice from the Majestic team, who are trained through the wine and spirit education trust (WSET).

Customers can also use Majestic’s range of complementary services, including its free glass hire, bespoke wedding tastings, and its “no quibble guarantee,” which allows shoppers to return any wines they don’t like in exchange for a bottle of equivalent value.

The new store supports Majestic’s growing B2B division, Majestic Commercial, which supplies wines to gastropubs, bars and restaurants in Wiltshire.

Majestic Wine Group executive chairman and CEO John Colley said: “Our Trowbridge opening marks the start of another important year of investment for the Majestic business.

“Our experiential stores and expert colleagues have always been right at the heart of what we do best at Majestic, and they remain a central part of our strategic plan as we expand into new communities across the UK.

“This just the start of our exciting expansion plans for the year ahead, and underscores our confidence in the future of experiential bricks and mortar retail.”
