Burberry has unveiled a new campaign featuring its outwear offerings to mark 170 years of the fashion house.
Burberry’s founder Thomas Burberry was inspired by the British weather when he originally created the brand, and outwear has remained at the heart of Burberry’s offering ever since.
Titled ‘170: The Anniversary Portraits’, the campaign was shot by photographer Jack Day and the spot was directed by Hector Aponysus.
The marketing drive features 170 people from across London, New York, Seoul and Shanghai including Korean singer-songwriter Crush, British theatre director Jamie Lloyd, model Lila Moss, fashion journalist Lisa Love, footballer Nico O’Reilly, basketball player OG Anunoby, chef Ruthie Rogers, ballerina Tan Yuanyuan, actor Xin Shuang and volleyball player Yeonkoung Kim.
Chief creative officer Daniel Lee said: “For 170 years, our outerwear has adapted to the weather and the way we dress. Each portrait is different, but together they capture individuality and self-expression.”
It features ten outwear designs and the portraits highlight how the same pieces can be reflected in different people’s style. The items include the long Kensington heritage trench coat, long Waterloo heritage trench coat, the leather Kensington trench jacket, mid-length Camden heritage car coat, mid-length Hastings trench coat, the long cashmere Kensington Trench Coat, shearling collar cashmere cape, check highlands puffer jacket and the check Ambleside puffer jacket.
