Quiz’s Christmas trading update has seen the womenswear retailer push aside industry woes as it recorded “strong” growth.

In the seven weeks to January 6, Quiz saw group revenues jump 31.9 per cent, boosted by a massive 119 per cent rise in online revenue.

This significant growth has been attributed to investments made to its distribution centre throughout last year.

Meanwhile, physical retail sales also performed well, with UK stores enjoying a 11.6 per cent rise.

Internationally, sales also grew 51.1 per cent thanks to growth across Spain and strong sales in Ireland.

Group gross margins were reportedly in line with expectations.

“We are pleased with Quiz’s continued strong momentum across the Group’s omni-channel business model during the important Christmas trading period,” chief executive Tarak Ramzan said.

“This growth reflects the strength of our brand and the appeal of our products to customers who want the latest looks at fantastic value.

“We are continuing to execute our growth plans in each area of the business, underpinned by continued investment in our marketing, people and infrastructure.

“We continue to look forward with confidence as we build on our strategy to develop Quiz as a global fast-fashion brand.”
