Stella McCartney has poached the general director of Moschino, Gabriele Maggio, as chief executive.

Maggio joined Moschino in July 2016, where he was tasked with overseeing daily business activities and improving overall business functions.

His career began at Italian fashion retailer Giorgio Armani, where he joined as export area manager in 2002, before joining Gucci as merchandising director in 2003.

Maggio later moved on to Bottega Veneta in 2009 where he took the reigns as chief executive of greater China and south east Asia.

In mid-July, Stella McCartney announced a partnership with luxury goods conglomerate LVMH to bolster the Stella McCartney brand.

McCartney said she will continue to serve as creative director and ambassador of her eponymous fashion retailer, while holding majority ownership.

The partnership with LVMH – which owns luxury retailers such as Louis Vuitton, Dior, Givenchy, Fendi, Tag Heuer and Kenzo – will also help boost Stella McCartney’s worldwide development in terms of business and strategy, while remaining as a sustainable brand.

Meanwhile, McCartney will serve as adviser to LVMH chief executive and chairman Bernard Arnault and the executive committee members.
