H&M to launch Mugler collaboration this Spring

H&M has confirmed that its next designer collaboration will be with the House of Mugler, launching in spring.

In a short statement, the Swedish fashion giant said that the collection would be crafted under the direction of the luxury fashion house’s creative director Casey Cadwallader and will “encapsulate the unique and vibrant spirit of Mugler”.

The Mugler H&M range will hit selected stores and be available online in spring, with H&M adding that more information on the scope of the collection will be shared “at a later date”.

H&M has been doing designer collaborations for almost two decades, working major luxury labels including Versace, Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Moschino, Balmain, Lanvin, Simone Rocha, Isabel Marant, and Giambattista Valli.

While Mugler is known for its avant-garde, disruptive approach to fashion, taking inspiration from art, architecture and technology for its clothes that are famous for accentuating the female form.

Manfred Thierry Mugler, the French fashion designer who launched his eponymous fashion house back in the 1970s passed away last year at the age of 73.

Last month H&M also confirmed it will be closing four of its UK stores citing a “rapid change in customer behaviour”.

The fashion retailer said it has been forced to shut a number of its branches around the world to meet its customers’ needs.
