Flooring Superstore has opened seven new stores with the space of three weeks as part of a £1 million investment in its store estate expansion.
The retailer opened shops in Norwich, Lincoln, Hull, Basingstoke, Orpington, Carlisle and Reading.
Flooring Superstore said it was aiming to roll out 25 new stores this year.
It comes after the retailer enjoyed its most profitable period ever as people bought more from its websites when shops were closed during the Covid-19 lockdowns.
“We have been planning the recent store launches for a while and as soon as the sector got the green-light from the government to resume trading from April 12, we were ready to open from that date,” Flooring Superstore chief retail officer Chris Barber said.
“We are seeing lots of first with the new stores, such as having a presence in areas such as Humberside, Cumbria, Lincolnshire and Norfolk for the first time.
“Our strategy is built on opening in areas with large conurbations and on busy retail parks with high footfall where we can make our own contribution to the local economy in these areas.”
