Spar has appointed former Morrisons Director of Category Development Jackie Mackenzie as its new Chief Information Officer.
Based in its head office in Harrow, Mackenzie will be responsible for a number of areas such as financial accounts, management information, supply chain and technology operations.
Spar‘s new CIO‘s previous roles include Operations Development Director for Trading at Morrisons and as a General Manager at Asda.
“I am really excited that Jackie is joining us in this new board-level role at Spar” said Spar‘s UK Managing Director Debbie Robinson.
“With Jackie‘s help, we will be better able to provide analysis on consumer insight, market data and competitor intelligence, to make sure Spar stays at the forefront of UK convenience retailing.”

The retailer has also announced that its Finance Director Richard Hill will retire from his position and instead take the role of Finance Controller.
Mackenzie will join the company on 14 March.
