Serial entrepreneur Sarah Murray is to join online fashion pureplay Boohoo as Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.

Murray has, in the past, grown and sold three technology companies. Her first business, Ninah Consulting, was a specialist management consultancy focused on pharmaceuticals, retail and financial service strategies – sold to ZenithOp in 2003. She created and built Inspop Ltd, owner of Confused.com, the online insurance marketplace before it was sold to Admiral Group. Murray also started Buddi, a remote health and location monitoring technology business in 2005. Murray, 47, currently serves as an Executive Committee/PLC Director’s Advisor to Travis Perkins.

“I am delighted to welcome Sara to the Company,” said Non-Executive Chairman Peter Williams. “Her experience in founding and developing successful technology businesses will be a great asset to the board. Sara’s entrepreneurial spirit perfectly reflects Boohoo’s culture and growth ambitions and we very much look forward to working with her.”

“Boohoo is a very exciting business and I am delighted to be joining the team at this point and contributing to the next stages of the Company’s development,” added Murray.
