Shortly after announcing its closure, We Are Pop Up has been acquired and saved by investment and development platform for real estate companies Real Estate Partners. The firm has secured the business in partnership with BrandSpots.

Originally founded in 2012, We Are Pop Up connected landlords with brands for short term leasing arrangements. It announced its inability to secure substantial funding earlier this month.

Since its launch, We Are Pop Up has attracted around 25,000 registered users including high street brands such as Adidas, Sonos, Urban Outfitters and Google.

The business‘ new owner said it plans to significantly develop the business through expanding its presence in new markets.

“We Are Pop Up is an exciting platform with a well-established presence in the retail market. Together with BrandSpots co-founder Ilona Taillade, we look forward to building on this success and bringing the expertise and investment required to take We Are Pop Up to the next level” said Leon Goldwater, Chairman of Retail Estate Partners. ”‹
