Homewares retailer Dunelm has welcomed ex-George at Asda boss Fiona Lambert as its new product director.

The appointment comes at a time of change for the company, having purchased WorldStores, Kiddicare and Achica for £8.5 million two months ago.

However, these acquired companies are expected to make a loss of £5-£10 million in their first year with Dunelm.

Lambert joins following an eight-year stint at Asda, where she relaunched its homeware range creating a major boost in sales.

She told the Daily Mail: “There are great opportunities in the home market and Dunelm is in the perfect position to capitalise on them.”

The appointment is thought to have been announced by Dunelm boss John Browett, previous executive of Dixons Carphone, Apple and Monsoon Accessorize, on Friday at the company‘s head office.
