The Works has announced that former PwC veteran Stuart Warriner will join its board as a non-executive director.

He will join the discount retailer following 30 years at PwC, where he lead its corporate finance team for a decade.

Founder of The Card Factory and chairman of The Works Dean Hoyle said: “Stuart is a highly respected corporate finance specialist. His decision to join The Works is a real coup for us and is testament to the strength and continued growth potential of this business.

“Stuart brings new expertise to an already strong board and will help us continue to explore new opportunities for the fantastic business that the executive team has built over the last decade.  I‘m looking forward to working with him to take The Works from strength to strength.”

The Works operates an estate of over 400 physical stores throughout the UK, and has posted growth in profit and like-for-like sales for the last eight years.
