Realbuzz set to quadruple stores in next 2 years

Realbuzz has announced ambitious expansion plans to more than quadruple its UK operations over the next two years.

The sportswear retailer, which currently trades from six stores with a further two “coming soon”, plans to open 20 new stores over the next two years.

Last week the retailer opened a 1400sq ft store at Liverpool One shopping centre, and is poised to open stores in Derby and Coventry by the end of the year.

It has seen rapid expansion since its entrance into retail just a year ago, having built its reputation as a sports technology company since 2001.

“From 2018 we’ll go into London and open multiple stores and then head to Yorkshire and the south-west, opening them in clusters,” chief marketing officer Paul Eaton said.

“Beyond that there is the US and Australia. There will be an overseas expansion, but for the time being we’re UK focused.”

“We cater to people who want to run a marathon to those who want to go to the gym for the first time. We’re also selling lots of netball shoes at the moment – which few high street retailers do considering it’s so popular – and we’re looking to expand into other sports next.”
