Coal Drops Yard has confirmed its opening date will be on October 26 this year, when 50 new stores, restaurants and cafes will open their doors the public.
The new 100,000sq ft development in the heart of London’s Kings Cross has already signed retailers including Paul Smith, Tom Dixon and Samsung, but will focus on providing space for smaller independent retailers and businesses.
The precinct has been designed by Heatherwick Studio and developed by Argent.
“Coal Drops Yard needs to totally blend into the space around, to become a genuine byword for exciting modern London, a neighborhood amid an era of generic townscapes,” senior retail project director Craig White told Forbes.
“If you can smell a whiff of developer, the game is effectively over. That’s why we thread our values very gently, with respect
“We have the capacity, because of occupying a very different space, to do something different.”
